New Wednesday Night Class

Good Words from God’s Word

We are starting a new Bible study on Wednesday nights as a part of the Share Our Savior (SOS) emphasis in our church. The study is entitled “TELL SOMEONE.” This past Wednesday night all who participated learned that sharing Jesus with others is FUN. The Bible says so, “Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting.  He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of see, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him” (Psalm 126:5-6). Why do we think that telling others about Jesus is such drudgery? If we do not share, we do not get the joy that heaven makes available to us. The devil wants us to believe that telling others about Jesus is dull and without any award. Statistics tell us that 95% of all believers never share Jesus with another person. THAT’S UNBELIEVABLE! Satan does a good job keeping us from heaven’s joy. More than 9 out of 10 followers of Jesus rob themselves of the joy that comes only through when you TELL OTHERS about the Savior.

The Bible also says, “I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:10). God is eager to spread His joy around. When we TELL SOMEONE about Jesus, God sends a fresh disbursement of His joy. One reason there are so many discouraged, unhappy, and disappointed believers is that they lack a fresh infusion of God’s hilarious joy. I want you to be happy; I mean really happy in the Lord. That’s why we are learning more about sharing Jesus through this new Bible study, TELL SOMEONE. It’s all about receiving God’s joy.

William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army, received word from his converts that they were coming home after witnessing in the streets. They were disappointed and discouraged saying, “We’ve tried everything. We’ve tried preaching on street corners, beating drums, passing out tracts, and nothing works. Mr. Booth sent them a telegram that said, simply, “Try Tears.”

Now, I do not know how sowing seed with tears turns into the joy of the Lord in your soul. That has to be one of the miracles of the Christian life. It is beyond our understanding. I accept it by faith, because I have experienced it in my heart. Caring for those who need to hear about Jesus, turns into profound joy when you tell other about Jesus. Such joy is a gift from God’s heart. I hope to see you on Wednesday night this week when we look together in God’s word and learn better how to share our faith.

IT’S GOING TO BE FUN.

The Bible is not a book you finish reading.
It is a book that you read so that it may finish you.
