“Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress. He sent out His word and healed them; He rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind” (Psalm 107:19-21).
As I sit in my office on the first day back from surgery, I am in a praise and thanksgiving frame of mind. My heart is filled with the miraculous handiwork of God. My surgeon, Dr. Graybeal, yesterday gave me the all clear to resume my ministry and activities as normal. I give thanks to God for the amazing gifts and talents of this caring doctor and his staff. They have performed an incredible work in my life and I praise God for what they have done.
I praise God for Dr. Wissenhunt, who diagnosed the problem with my artery and made it possible for me to secure the help I needed. I am still under her care. She will be looking at the artery to determine if any further procedure will be necessary. I consider all my doctors, nurses and attending physicians gifts from God for my good. Praise God for the experience and care of those He uses to help us when we are sick. Today, I praise God for the people He used to rescue me and deliver me from sickness.
God not only used wonderful people, but He also answered the prayers of multitudes of people who loved me enough to pray for my healing. Your prayers have not only brought me through this trying time, but you have, through your prayers, provided new vision and fellowship with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. When you are physically down, the prayers of God’s people lift you up to new heights of God’s glory that are life changing. I am not only a participant in the healing power of God, but by your praying, I am a reborn, renewed, and changed child of God. Nothing will ever be the same, because God has given me a renewed awareness of His glory. I praise God for His unfailing love and for His wonderful deeds in my life.
Today, I will preach an introductory sermon for the coming Celebration Event next Sunday on the site of our new location and future place of ministry. I do not understand God’s provision of this amazing opportunity as something we deserve or are entitled to have. God has given us this great blessing because He desires to receive glory by what we do there and by the ways we exalt Him in all we pursue as His people. It is a great blessing to preach today. I plan on exalting Christ today. Join me, as we together, lift up Jesus.
