Today we gather in our new location on Mundy Mill Road to rejoice and give thanks to God for His provision of this property and facilities. I am so thankful for all that God has done to make this possible.
My gratitude is given to Ken Pethel and his amazing crew for all the work accomplished to organize, clean and make these grounds and facilities so beautiful for our worship today.
I thank God for Bertha Hutson and her Hospitality Team for working with Sonny’s Barbecue to make this wonderful meal possible.
Thank you Praise and Sound Team for your work to set up and manage the sound and screen equipment for our worship.
I would not neglect Judy House, Caroldean Childers, Debra Pethel and Mr. Jim Walters for their work providing our congregation with promotion, architectural renderings, tables and chairs, as well as the beautiful decorations for today’s special service.
We will enjoy in this service the following special features:
- Barbecue Lunch (Catered by Sonny’s Barbecue)
- Delicious Deserts provided by the Ladies of Grace
- Guided Tours of the New Facilities
- Unveiling of the Conceptual Rendering of the New Church
- Introduction and testimony of Mr. Jim Walters – Grace Church Benefactor
- Spiritual Celebration through Worship and Praise
- Preaching of God’s Word and Call for Decision
Today’s worship and fellowship will be the first in a long line over the next 18 months which will prepare our congregation for its permanent relocation. There will be capital fund raising events, work days, ongoing prayer and ministry opportunities, maintenance and upkeep projects taking place to get both the facilities and our congregation ready for the move.
Notice the theme for the beginning service and kick-off for our future ministry,
“ONE MILE FOR GOD’S GLORY”
The theme verse undergirding everything we do is, “May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to who be glory for ever and ever. Amen” (Hebrews 13:20-21).
I’m working to memorize these two verses. I will preach today a brief message from this passage. Someone has called these two verses the Greatest Doxology in Scripture. That is what I want Grace to be, A Doxology of Praise to Jesus Christ.
Let’s agree to make Jesus preeminent and exalt Him in all that we do to prepare these facilities and move the future ministry of our church.
